The mechanism of pollutant which transports, mixes and spreads into water is quite complicated. There are several factors which control and make the pollutant transport's behavior change. Among those, the most important one is diffusion process. The estimation of the diffusion coefficient proposed here is based on the theory of turbulent shear flow. To predict the distribution of sediment concentration from dredging spoil in the sea region, a finite difference method, namely the CRANK-NICOLSON scheme, which is transformed from the partial differential diffusion equation is used to predict its behavior. By using this knowledge, the suitable method for disposal of dredging spoil will be provided in the future, and the adverse effect of disposal of pollutant discharged into the sea is expected to be controlled.
