The method of analysis is mainly based on the assumption that the plane of the cross section remains the plane after the deformation occurs. The expressions for the axial force and bending moments carried by each of the component parts as well as by the total steel reinforced concrete section are derived in non-dimensional form. Interaction curves between the axial force and bending moments are numerically obtained, after the cross section is simplified to reduce the number of parameters. involved in the interaction formula, and a method of design is suggested.
