Three of them were cased piles, 15 feet long and the other three were uncased piles, 20 feet long. Both types have three different diameters of 10, 8 and 6 inches. The cyclic pile loading tests were carried out after 28 days of pile casting. All piles failed at the settlement between 0.37 to 0.55 inch. The shaft friction and the end bearing capacity of the pile were determined by load cells and by VAN WEELE method. The result obtained from VAN NEELE method was between 3 to 16 and 8 to 375 per cent different from the load cell method for shaft friction and end bearing respectively. Also the end bearing capacity factor (N) and the constant relationship (a) between the shaft friction and the strength of soil around the pile-.were computed from the results of the two methods. They were 5.2 to 12.4 and 0.18 to 0.53 respectively.
