By: Call Number: AIT Thesis no. IE-88-29 Contributor(s): Material type: TextSeries: Asian Institute of Technology. Thesis ; no. IE-88-29Publication details: Bangkok : Asian Institute of Technology, 1988Description: 50 pSubject(s): Online resources: Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Asian Institute of Technology, 1988 Summary: This study aims at exploring strategies for attaining food adequacy in Vietnam which has limited cultivable land and a growing population. The impact of t h e various agricultural land management policies is examined and the dynamics resulting from these is illustrated . A System Dynamics computer simulation model has been constructed to analyze the interactions between ecological resources and food production practices. The model provides a detailed, integrated framework for understanding the past behavior of the food production system. Experimentation with this model attempts to identify appropriate policies concerning land use management and population control for food self- sufficiency to be achieved in the long run, without ecological destruction.
