In the formulation of Galerkin residual equation, the residual error over the entire domain was minimized by enforcing the error to vanish globally over the domain with respect to Moving Least Square displacement function. This global error can localize over individual cells or elements. Moving least square approximation is used as the trial and test functions for formulation of Element Free Galerkin Method. In the present adaptive scheme for EFGM, the size of DOI and integration cells used in the adaptive EFGM scheme varied according to density of nodes in the domain. New nodes will be added where accuracy is lower than specified value. Numerical tests confirm the effectiveness of the proposed estimator in identifying where to add nodes, and in signaling the end of the node refinement.
