As the role of Asia is becoming increasingly important in the world economic order, entry decision into Asian countries is on the forefront. This research study examines the factors influencing entry decision of multinational corporations, by incorporating the experience of companies operating in three different Asian countries. The study also reviews the previous research done in the area of entry strategy and provides a conceptual framework for entry decision. An overview of issues and policies on foreign direct investment in the three countries selected for study is also covered in the study. Critical analysis of the factors influencing the entry decision in the three Asian countries under study and the experience of decision makers of multinational corporations with regard to these factors is the focus of this study. Finally, a summary of major findings from this study and recommendations to companies contemplating entry or expansion of their operations in Asian countries is provided.
