First of all characteristics of Thai rice bran as well as different methods of oil extraction have been studied in detail. Next, various cost model s have been applied to determine the optimum size of the plants. Plant of capacities 50 tons/day and 100 tons/day of r ice bran have been used for analysis. For plants of these capacities, capital investment, profit comparison, break-even points, profit planning and annual rates of return have been calculated. A quantitative model has also been used to determine the optimum location for the industry.
