A finite difference leap-frog scheme is applied as a method for the time integration procedure. A process of sand terrace formation in the conditions of different jetty length and steep slope longshore bed as well as constant in time solid and fluvial runoff have been investigated. The flow velocities and bed elevations from the numerical model are compared with the experimental results. The available two-dimentional depth-averaged hydrodynamic model is used to compute the velocity field and water surface elevation by solving the continuity and momentum equation of flow. For the morphological model, the sediment balance equation and sediment transport formula are solved to simulate the morphological process. Besides employing uniform schematization, a mixed schematization in the computation is attempted. The hydrodynamic and morphological model are found to give good prediction for the relevant geometrical shape of sand terrace with respect to time.
