This study investigates the use of a microcomputer (APPLE II) as a work station for full-integrated , computer aided structural analysis, design, drawing and documentation tor reinforced concrete low-rise buildings. A computer program is written in Applesott BASIC to allow a conventional structural analysis and design process in accordance with the basic requirements ot the ACI Building Code. First, the structural modelling of a building is discussed. Then the internal organization of the microcomputer program is planned so that the process of analysis and design can be conducted without interruption. A numerical example is presented to illustrate the effectiveness of this program.
