This study proposes good ambulance deployment policies in Bangkok to improve the ambulance serVices or the. Medical Evacuation Center by maximiZing the expected number of calls that can be reached within a given maximum response time. A probabilistic covering model by basin. called maximum Expected Covering Location Problem, is used to try to take care of the stochastic aspect of the.ambulance system. The solutions are solved by a heuristic algorithm called "The Single Node Substitution.3 The exPected coverage or varying number or ambulances under three different maximum response times are presented. The results are compared between the case all the existing locations are fixed and the case they are relocated. The later yields a higher coverage level. All solutions obtained by this algorithm are prepared for further study by a Simulation model.
