In this study, the solution of a weightless circular plate on non-tension foundation subjected to a vertical concentrated forced at the center of the plates is formulated. It is treated as an axisymmetrical problem and it is assumed that tensile stress cannot be transmitted across the interface between plate and its supporting subgrade. The subgrade is represented by model that was proposed by Winkler. The absence of t ensile stresses, across the interface between a plate and its foundation, will cause no contact regions under the plate and the contact takes place within a circle centered about the concentrated load. The main problem in the case of tensionless foundation is to determine the radius of contact and the s tress resultants.
