Summary, etc. In this study, factors of safety resisting slope failure of embankment on DCM piles and the location of slip surfaces provided by limit equilibrium method (LEM) and strength reduction method (SRM) were compared under the variation of undrained cohesion of soft soil, thickness of soft soil, length of DCM piles, strength of OCM piles, tensile strength of DCM piles and height of embankment. The comparative results of factors of safety were shown that calculated factor of safety values by SRM using PLAXIS/2D and FLAC software was revealed similar trend; meanwhile, calculated values by LEM using SLOPE/W software would be generally provided higher factor of safety values. In addition, the comparison between 2D models of half and full embankment on DCM piles were shown that there were the significant difference values of factor of safety and slip surface obtained by LEM because the disturbing forces become larger caused by boundary effect. For the locations of critical failure surface, they were found that the slip surface obtained by SRM can expand or shrink with parametric variation. Meanwhile the slip surface obtained by LEM was located at same position. The comparison of simulation idealization of embankment on OCM piles between continuous walls with the same spacing of the actual case using the equivalent wall method with equal axial stiffness (EA) and average strength of improved ground were shown that the embankment on DCM piles simulation with average strength of improved ground will be provided higher values of safety factor than the equivalent wall method with equal axial stiffness in most cases
