| Summary, etc. | In new economic paradigm, it is known that Science Park, Technology Centers, Innovation Centers and Incubation Center are instruments of economic development and technology transfer between science and economy. Business and technology incubation concept is increasingly being used as a tool for promoting entrepreneurship and new venture creation. It provides the ideal startup situation for new technological oriented firms, helping young enterprises to survive and start growing during the staiiup period when they are most vulnerable. The Incubation Center is a dynamic process of business enterprise development that can support start-up enterprises by providing a proper ladder to technology-led growth. From various business incubator literatures, much attention has been devoted to the description in the incubator facilities and performance, while less attention has been focused on incubatees and their needs. This research study is intended to identify needs of target clients, and analyze the gaps between clients' needs and providing services. It gathers both qualitative and quantitative information. The qualitative aspect consists of descriptive interviews with public and private organizations that provide business incubation to software firms. The quantitative aspect is comprised of the empirical data collected from questionnaire to entrepreneurs in software business in term of ranking and assessing the facilities and services provided by the incubator. The supply and demand sides of providing services for the incubation process were analyzed. The needs regarding business incubator space and facilities are explored. Ranking and rating of the needs regarding business incubator services are illustrated. According to this research study, it is found that the most two preference services are networking and marketing. In addition, among various services regarding business management, business negotiation technique is the most preference one. Furthermore, variations in the extent of needs for services based on different characteristics of prospective clients are investigated. Only one service having no significant difference in the extent of needs is networking. |
