520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. The globalization and industrialization has developed the different terminologies and types of CSR practices. Multinational and local companies have now realized the importance of CSR and are embedding CSR in company{u201F}s business model and strategies. Despite of development of CSR in the global context, the CSR of local and multinational companies in Nepal has less explored. This study, thus aims to overcome this gap, by describing and examining the situation of CSR and different types of CSR practices through comparative study. Initially, the situation of CSR in Nepal has been analyzed from different secondary data and later the interview with human resource at management and officer level of three multinational and local companies were done. The selection of the sample for interview was based on purposive sampling method. The study conducted was then analyzed through fusion of semi-structured in-depth interview with the development of the multiple cases from the interviews. The findings of this study shows local companies are in the initial phase of CSR practices and are indulge in Philanthropic CSR with less priority on multiple stakeholder{u201F}s orientation, no proper foundation for carrying CSR activities and allocation of budget based on the company{u201F}s principles rather than government policies. On the other hand, Multinationals are quite forward in terms of CSR; the companies are following hybrid, liked and integrated approaches to CSR practices with multiple stakeholder{u201F}s orientation, separate foundation for CSR regulation, flexibility in terms of budget allocation with consideration of government minimum requirement and direct/in-direct contribution to Sustainable Development Goals. The findings of the study assist management of local companies to practice CSR practices in deeper level and embed in business model. Moreover, this research also suggests the government plays a significant role in CSR practices of local companies through the implementation of strict policies.
