| Summary, etc. | By using the panel data on 533 publicly-traded comp anies in Thailand stock exchanges on 1,266 observations from 2003 to 2007, the resear ch examine the relashionship between degree of family ownership, ownership struc ture and effects of family and external CEOs to the firm performance. The paper shows that the increase in the degree of the family ownership, the greater firm performance. In addition, the marriage networks bri ng even more positive effects to the firm performance in Thailand. As the degree of the family ownership increase with the inclusive of the percentage of the share held by th e marriage networks, the larger firm performance. Moreover, the study notes that the fam ily type of ownership outperforms others type of ownership structure. The findings al so suggest the positive effects from the external CEOs to the firm perofrmance in the no n-family-owned firms. |
