Summary, etc. Drought is an acute abiotic stress, encumbers the tomato growth and yield. Salicylic acid helps to cope the plant with abiotic stress. Two experiments were conducted to assess the effect of SA dose and soil moisture regime on grape tomato under drought stress. Exogenous SA was supplemented as seed priming and foliar spray. In first experiment, seeds of tomato were immersed into 0, 50, 100, 150, and 200 mg L-1 SA solution for 24 h and three soil moisture regimes as 50%, 75% and 100% field capacity. The treatments of second experiment were five doses of SA (0, 50, 100, 150 and 200 mg L-1 ) for foliar spray with three soil moisture conditions as 100%, 75% and 50% field capacity. The growth parameters, yield and yield contributes, and quality traits of grape tomato were significantly affected by limited soil moisture. External salicylic acid application improved the impact of drought stress in grape tomato. Results revealed that the fruit yield was declined by 94% and 95% at severe drought stress (50% field capacity) in the foliar application and seed treatment with SA, respectively. Foliar spray of SA was the more effective method than seed priming with SA in grape tomato. Priming seed with 100 mg L-1 SA and foliar application of 150 mg L-1 SA were most effective dose to ameliorate the effect of low soil moisture conditions and increase the performance of the grape tomato under control and drought stress conditions.
