Summary, etc. The hydropower sector is critical for promoting socioeconomic development in Myanmar. The demand for resilient design and planning of hydropower development has increased to cope with future climate change as the alterations in river hydrology caused by climate change become a challenge for resilient hydropower development in the long term. This study aims to propose adaptive measures that can enhance the resiliency of the largest hydropower project in Myanmar, the lower Yeywa hydropower plant, through the projections of climate and hydrological projections and assessment of climate change impact on energy generation of Yeywa hydropower plant. In this study, future climate projections through the use of 3 GCMs under SSP2-4.5 and SSP5-8.5 scenarios were conducted. The future climate projection suggests that the absolute changes in temperature is projected to increase within the range of 0.41°C and 1.2°C and the annual precipitation is going to decrease in range of 39.64 mm and 172.273 mm in near future To analyze the future alterations in river hydrology of Myitnge river basin in which Yeywa hydropower plant is located and access the impact of climate change on hydropower generation, SWAT hydrological modeling was performed. The future streamflow in Myitnge river basin is projected to increase and there will be more days which receive high flow during the wet season compared against the observed period. Resiliency of Yeywa hydropower plant was assessed by two approaches in which the first approach is to assess how much resiliency does Yeywa hydropower plant has to climate change under different scenarios and the second approach is to figure out the resiliency and ability of Yeywa hydropower plant to recover from disruptive events by climate change when the adaptation measures are applied. Increasing the monthly net head along with dam heightening and increasing the efficiency of turbines has been selected adaptation measures to assess resiliency for this study and the results indicated that increasing monthly net head along with the dam heightening can enhance the resiliency of Yeywa hydropower plant with better ability to recover from disruptive events rather than increasing the efficiency of turbines.
