| Summary, etc. | As the country moves from a highly controlled economy to an economy characterized by more aggressive competition, pervasive uncertainty, and unlimited opportunity, Vietnamese inspection organizations have to change the way they do business. Driving this change, apart from other reasons, is the realization of inspection organizations as service providers. Understanding what and how consumers want and need becomes urgent for all the persons who are in or tend to plunge themselves into this emerging industry in Vietnam. Based on the analysis of data, especially the primary data obtained through a survey conducted during two months April and May, 1995 on 17 Vietnamese and foreign trading enterprises located mainly in Hochiminh City, this research attempts to develop a customer purchase pattern for the Vietnamese inspection services. Some general recommendations for the inspection services marketing mix for Vietnamese inspection organizations and for its leader - The Vietnam Superintendent and Inspection Company - have also been devised with the most sincere hope of the author that they might be made use of. |
