520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. Mostly cases of liquefaction effects overlie by a clay crust layer which is often between shallow foundation and liquefied sand layer. Those sites are easier liquefaction occurred because of confined state of liquefied ground. Moreover, the situated foundations still have degradation of their bearing capacity due to excess pore water pressure buildup during ground shaking. Therefore, vertical drainage system is selected to immediately reduce excess pore water pressure under the foundation because of high efficiency and low construction costs. This study presents responds of excess pore water pressure, vertical deformation under shallow foundation in treated and non- treated areas by prefabricated vertical drains due to liquefaction induced. These results are evaluated from 1 -G shaking table experiment and verified by FEQDrain software which is FORTRAN program to calculate efficiency of vertical drain during liquefaction occurred. However, total vertical deformation of shallow foundation in liquefaction areas is reduced by the drainage system due to allowable releasing of excess pore water pressure, and that still lead to maintain stability of the superstructure
