520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. Graduate unemployment has created an intimidating widespread developmental obstacle resulting in enormous consequences in addition to causing major societal vices globally. This has attracted significant attention on policy and political agenda of nations through the instrumentality of entrepreneurship education programmes. Entrepreneurship education therefore, is the vehicle to sensitize, change students{u2019} mindsets and create awareness towards an alternative career option ie business start-ups. However, the impacts of these programmes in achieving their objectives remained unclear based on reported mixed results. These have raised some concerns over the design of most of theseprogrammes. To this effect, this study developed a conceptual framework grounded in four theories and two models to determine the design and implementation of the programme in the context of Nigeria. The study assessed the design and adequacy of curriculum, the resources, the skill acquisition process and activities as well as the ability of the programme recipients to perform entrepreneurial activities. The study adopted a quantitative research approach, collected data from 893 respondents comprising: entrepreneurs (n = 75), instructors (n = 45), graduates (n=191) and 582 final year students in five public universities in three geo-political zones of Nigeria. Descriptive statistics, ANOVA and regression tools were used to analyze the data. Major findings include: from the students{u2019} perspective the curriculum is adequate and relevant to infuse prerequisite skills for entrepreneurial behaviors. From entrepreneurs{u2019} perspective, universities have qualified manpower for the programme. Based on the students and graduates{u2019} perspectives the curriculum is relevant, instructors are deeply rooted with the course knowledge and adopt the right mix of delivery approach to enable students acquire relevant entrepreneurial skills. Findings further revealed that the graduates and students are able to apply their skills either through formal employment or self-employment. Findings further revealed that human resources, funding and infrastructure and facilities are lacking, this necessited recommendations to improve the programme. The study contributes to the stream of literature in entrepreneurship, a replicable conceptual framework for the design and implementation of entrepreneurship education programme. The study confirmed that the programme is effective in Nigeria. The study discussed the implications for practice, theory and policy as well as suggest areas for future research to further the growth of entrepreneurship education in Nigeria and other developing countries.
