The flexural behavior of six beams strengthened on the soffits by using ferrocement laminate made of modified mortar and reinforced with hexagonal wire mesh were compared with the controlled beam. The main parameters used in this study were the optimization of mortar matrix and the number of layers of wire mesh used in the fe rrocement form. The results of this experiment include first crack load, ultimate load, defl ection characteristics, toughness index and failure pattern after the strengthening of the beams. Also, the scope was to determine the effect of the modified mortar matrix and the layers of wire mesh on the load capacity of RC beam. The test results showed that strengthening of the beams by using high performance ferrocement jacketing increased on the load carrying capacity of the composite. The more the number of layers of wire mesh, the higher the increase in load carrying capacity of the beams. Moreover, the using of high performance mortar indicates the highest first crack load among all the strengthened specimens because its compressive and flexural strength is higher than other mortar matrix.
