By: Call Number: AIT Thesis no.ST-03-07 Contributor(s): Material type: SeriesSeries: Asian Institute of Technology. Thesis ; no. ST-03-07Publication details: Bangkok : Asian Institute of Technology, 2003Description: 105 leavesSubject(s): Online resources: Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Eng.) - Asian Institute of Technology, 2003 Summary: The accuracy of the previous predicted formula is verified with (1) concrete cured by any other brand of commercial microwave oven instead of Goldstar MS-4025 microwave oven which was used in the previous work and (2) ready-mixed concrete obtained from six major companies in Thailand instead of mix-in-lab concrete which was studied in the previous work. The related equipment for use in field is conceptually studied and designed. The samples of concrete mix proportion according to ACI standard mix design without admixtures and with accelerators, retarders and superplasticizers are used to verify the of the previous predicted formula with two new brands of commercial microwave oven. The average and maximum percentage of error in both cases of using any other brand of commercial microwave oven are 5.80 and ±10.31 % respectively in first case and 6.39 and ±11.24% respectively in second case. Moreover, the guideline to determine the optimal microwave power output has been developed for any other brand of commercial microwave oven. The samples of ready-mixed concrete are tested by curing with Goldstar MS-4025 microwave oven. The optimal process, which was obtained in previous work, is used. The previous predicted formula cannot be used to predict 28-day compressive strength of ready-mixed concrete from only one company with the maximum percentage of error within ±22.74%.
