(1975) is applied in the present study considering the flood flow data in 1980. The flood plain model previously developed is modified considering flood flow exchange between the Lop Buri Flood Plains and additional return flow due to rainwater previously stored in the depression paddy area. The new flood plain model is used in conjunction with the previous system model to simulate the flood flow data in 1980. The results obtained from both models consisting of water levels and discharges at various gaging stations along the Chao Phraya and Lop Buri Rivers are compared with the observed data wherever ava1lable. It is found that the results from both models agree equally well with better improvement on the discharge and water level conditions at Lop Buri Station for the case of the modified flood plain model. Modifications on the values of wier coefficients and spillage distances are also made to improve the computed results for both models. It is concluded that the previous and modified flood plain models are equally well applicable to the real floods in the Chao Phraya River System.
