The analysis on Thai syllable structures is carried out and consequently rules for syllable boundaries recognition are established. A unique approach is employed to separate every syllables in a given Thai text. The algorithm is implemented using the BASIC programming language on the NEC PC-8001 which is capable to process Thai character. More than 30,000 Thai syllables from different random texts are tested. An acceptable result of around 96% of correctness is obtained.
