SeriesSeries: Asian Institute of Technology. Research studies project report ; no. RS-09-02 ; Publication details: Pathum Thani, Thailand : Asian Institute of Technology, 2009Description: 1 online resource (40 leaves) : illSubject(s): Online resources: Dissertation note: Research Studies Project Report (M. Sc.) - Asian Institute of Technology, 2009 Summary: Dengue is a vector borne viral infection that is now specific in the tropical and sub-tropical countries are the most dreaded. In Thailand D.F/D.HF has become a leading cause of morbidity and mortality specially in the children.Still there is no vaccination for this only the way is to control the vector. This can be done only having the knowledge about the DF/DHF with environmental factors related to dengue infection. The Study was conducted to find out the relationship between changing environment and dengue infection as well as the breeding and habitat of the mosquito to reduce the survey cost in effect manner. High resolution satellite images (IKNOS, Quick Bird) with the help of GIS can be useful for identification of mosquitoes breeding locations for entomologist surveys. Understanding or these relationship will facilitate to identify the key components (factors that effect dengue infection).
