CONWIP production system in a food industry : a case study

By: Call Number: AIT Thesis no.ISE-00-29 Contributor(s): Material type: SeriesSeries: Asian Institute of Technology. Thesis ; no. ISE-00-29Publication details: Bangkok : Asian Institute of Technology, 2000Description: 56 pSubject(s): Online resources: Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Eng.) - Asian Institute of Technology 2000 Summary: This paper applies the CONWIP concept to a food manufacturing facility. Firstly, the simulation model is established for the existing and proposed system. From the simulation model, the performances of the system for different WIP level with various proportions of product mixes are shown. The simulation was run first for each individual product and the WIP versus throughput and the WIP versus flow time curves are plotted against the best case, practical worst case and the worst case performance from the factory physics law. Examples of the results for the cases where two products are produced simultaneously are also presented.
