AE-85-19Publication details: Bangkok : Asian Institute of Technology, 1985Description: 118 pSubject(s): Online resources: Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Eng.) - Asian Institute of Technology, 1985 Summary: Two models were developed to simulate the drying of corn in cylindrical bin with radial air flow. The first model was semi-empirical in nature whilst the second employed the near equilibrium simulation approach. This study was considered the prediction of grain moisture and temperature changes at any point in a bin and at any time when drying was being carried out. The inlet air conditions were changed continuously during the test periods. A system of equations for prediction these changes was presented, methods of determining the relevant physical properties were considered, and step by step solution by means of a digital computer is given. The computed results were compared with experimental observations.
