By: Call Number: AIT Thesis no.EV-83-15 Contributor(s): Material type: Continuing resourceSeries: Asian Institute of Technology. Thesis ; no. EV-83-15Publication details: Bangkok : Asian Institute of Technology, 1983Description: 100 leaves : illSubject(s): Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Asian Institute of Technology, 1983 Summary: A number of regression equations of capital cos-t and operation and maintenance cost of several treatment processes was established from the analysis of 80 treatment plants located in the Greater Bangkok Area, Thailand. Past costs were adjusted for inflation, material and labour cost fluctuations. In this study, the most important cost determinants were found to be design wastewater flow, BOD loading and population equivalent. Suspended solid loading was also a significant determinant of chemical treatment capital cost. This study revealed that influent BOD had no direct effect on the cost. Influent COD was instead one of the cost determinants of oxidation ditch capital cost. The empirical cost equations developed in this study are just for es- timation. With some modification and restriction, they may help to deter- mine actual costs.
