The compilation process has been divided into two parts: conversion of the PL/I subset language into a general assembly code, commonly used in many microprocessors; and the conversion of this assembly code into the specific machine instructions of a 6802 microprocessor. The main procedure of the compilation has been performed by using the approach called RECURSIVE DESCENT PARSING.
