However, to date, no comprehensive model relating the hydraulic parameters of a system using mechanical mixing, to the oxygen transfer coefficient, has been formulated. In this study the concepts of dimensional analysis and similitude have been used successfully to relate these parameters to the oxygen transfer coefficient. The final fluid mechanical model obtained relates the variables in a dimensionless form. The model has been validated and the constants of the equation have been statistically evaluated using the results of experiments conducted for the purpose.
