The results showed that in. the normally consolidated range the consolidation stress ratio has-no significant effect on the total compression. For the overconsolidated range the results were not clearly defined. In the normally consolidated range, a decrease in consolidation stress ratio causes an increase in the vertical compression. This causes the coefficient of consolidation to decrease in axial draina.ge test but increase in radial drainage one.
