The consolidation stress ratio used were 0. 65, 0.8, 1.0 and the types of drainage were axial drainage and radial drainage. The results showed that in. the normally consolidated range the consolidation stress ratio has-no significant effect on the total compression. For the overconsolidated range the results were not clearly defined. In the normally consolidated range, a decrease in consolidation stress ratio causes an increase in the vertical compression. This causes the coefficient of consolidation to decrease in axial draina.ge test but increase in radial drainage one.
