Abrasive wate1jet cutting process offers significant advantages over existing techniques, including technical, economical, environmental, and safety concerns. Predicting the cutting results, however, is a difficult task and a major effort in this development process. This research represents the models for predicting the cutting results of abrasivewate1jet in two specific materials, Asbestos Cement Plates, and cold-rolled steel sheets. Designs of experiments and analysis of variance were used to determine the effect of cutting parameters on kerf characteristics and to develop empirical models for the prediction of kerf profile characteristic.
