The farmers' awaremess about soil conservation problems, and their participation in the soil conservation programmes were also evaluated. The trend of the annual runoff and the rainfall-runoff relationship during the period (1974/75 - 1981/82), in Dumpul were analyzed using linear regression. Rainfall is the important factor which control runoff. Therefore, rainfall in both sub watersheds were also analyzed to determine the normality and similarity of each other. Changes in daily rainfall amounts were analyzed by frequency distribution. The impacts of soil conservation programmes on the farmers ' awareness about soil conservation problems and theier participation in the programmes, were analyzed by questionaires method. The results indicate that in Dumpul, there were a significant decrease in annual runoff and runoff coefficient during the period of record. A parallel decrease with the runoff coefficient is the annual suspended sediment yield. These results thought to be as the effects of the soil conservation measures which were applied in Dumpul. The treatments also phycologically induced to increase the farmers' understanding about soil conservation problems.
