This is one of the first batch of pioneering studies in the Industrial Development and Management Division of the Asian Institute of Technology with regard to the use of distribution functions for modeling. The varied kinds of industries in Thailand invokes the ramification of the total system into different industrial types some of which, especially those efficient accelerators of industrial development, are considered separately in addition to the modeling of the total industrial system. Dynamic and spatial behaviors are the main attraction in the study with respect to employment, capitalization, and energy consumption. Employment is modeled by a gamma function, and negative exponential function models the remaining two economic factors. The assessment and interpretation of results presented here, if carried a stage further, would imply certain particular directions for policy. is fair to point out that where evidence is meagre and unsatisfactory in It some cases, the element of judgment involved in deriving such conclusions is uncomfortably large. Certainly, very much empirical work remains to be done before anything like settled conclusions or even systematic appraisal can be hoped for.
