A log-linear formulation for the sectorial demand of electricity is used to identify the economic significance of different input variables. Balck-box approach of extrapolating past trends in load growth has also been used. Finally it is concluded that sophisticated econometric models are not suited for Pakistan because of its unique behaviour of economic-structure and internal affairs.
