This research study presents a typology of partnership between French and Vietnamese in joint ventures based on synergy effect and collaboration. There are two types of French-Vietnamese partnership in Vietnam: the first ones are those that attain both of elements of partnership; and the second ones achieve synergy effect but lack collaboration. The research asserted that only joint venture with synergy effect and collaboration can enjoy long term success. It suggests approaches to develop this kind of partnership.
