Sc.) - Asian Institute of Technology, 2019 Summary: Water is an imperative natural resource. Water temperature getting warmer can lead to the excessive growing of the phytoplanktons in lakes and currently, there is a drop of water quality due to occurrence of eutrophication to the lakes in Sardinia Island, observed widely. Thus, it was considered essential to monitor the water quality of lakes in Sardinia. This study used multi-source and multi-technique approach of Remote Sensing to accomplish the Water Surface Temperature (WST) database to support studying and monitoring the environment of water. Also, this study demonstrated the correlation among the water and air temperature which were obtained from Global Circulation Model (GCM). A strong correlation between estimated WST from Landsat and observed WST was found through this study, along with the observation that WST from MODIS have poor accuracy when compared with observed WST whereas the MODIS accuracy was improved when WST of MODIS was done along with resealing. Moreover, WST of MODIS and estimated WST from Landsat are correlated.
