Indirectly, life style and consumption pattern of urban people are also affecting the impact. This study attempts to assess energy consumption and carbon emissions at household level related to urban form by looking residential density in a developing city in Bandung City, Indonesia. A household survey was undertaken conducted at high, medium, and low residential density areas. The study is limited only from anthropogenic activities in the home, such as transport, cooking and electricity usage purposes. Energy and carbon conversion factors are applied and multiple regression analysis is used to find the significant influencing factors to energy use and carbon emissions. The results show that residents in high density area have much lower energy and carbon emissions generation than in others density areas. In general, the key influencing factors are individual, public transport, housing, and energy use behavior factors. The proposed measures towards energy efficient and low carbon city are by integrating energy efficiency and carbon emission reduction in spatial planning measure, encouraging financial incentives in term of green energy and building, and promoting public education to citizens on energy efficiency and carbon emission reduction.
