Solar simulator, available equipment's and experimental procedures are detailed. Solar cell characterization discussed include analysis of 1-V curves, series- resistance, saturation current and ideality factor determination, as well as performance investigation and prediction with theoretical model. A reference solar cell has been calibrated for outdoor performance measurement purposes. Indoor and outdoor testing results have been compared: efficiency of silicon solar cells under natural sunlight turns out to be about 10% greater than that measured under tungsten lamp. Two methods of determination of the series-resistance have been systematically conducted ; it is concluded that only the dynamic ·resistance method can give reliable· results. The validity of the two-diodes· model of the solar cell is proven to be applicable in a very wide range UR - http://203.159.5.9/ait-thesis/detail.php?q=B21568 ER -
