  <abstract>Analysis of accessibility and travel to primary and secondary  schools was made for six selected traffic zones in Cebu City, Philippines. These zones were classified in terms of income, geographical location,  and quality of public transport service. It was found that good accessibility does not depend on the socio-economic status of the zone but on its distance from the Central Business District.  Accessibility in all study zones was shown to be affected by the  mode selected, public transport (jeepney in this case) routing, and the choice of schools. All these were found to have an effect on travel time. Modal splits for home-to-school, and school-to-home, trips did not display any significant difference. Jeepney and walking were found to be the two main modes for trips to and from schools. A high proportion of primary-age pupils walk to school; secondary pupils largely travel in jeepneys. Males walked to school more frequently than femaled, who  tended more to use jeepneys.</abstract>
