  <abstract>Twenty reinforced concrete piles with a cross-section of 15 cm  x 15 cm were constructed for this study. All the piles were 2 m long. They were spliced together at the site to form 4 m and 6 m spliced piles. Three of each group were driven into the ground. Short-term full scale load tests for determination of the failure load were carried out on five spliced-piles. One out of each group was  subjected to long-term loading of which the design working load of 1 ton was applied and maintained constant throughout the testing period.  Inclination of the spliced piles were measured by the strain-gauges mounted on PVC tubes.  Pore water pressure were also measured during and after the driving and found that the excess pore pressure dissipated about 80% of its initial value with 14 days.</abstract>
