The characteristics of the Food Industry such as output, sales, employment, labor productivity, etc., are studied. Two production functions, namely, Cobb-Douglas function and CES function, are estimated and the impact of technological progress on production is investigated. A system dynamics model is formulated to simulate the possible future outcome of the main variables such as output, sales, employment, capital assets, etc. It is then used to trace the pattern of growth for different sets of policies.
