127 p. Importance of communication system in any project hardly requires any emphasis. It assumes greater importance in construction industry where numerous communication channels are necessitated to execute the job as per specifications, commensurate with time schedule. While I recognizing the importance of communication system in construction industry, this study presents the communication process, barriers to communication as well as possible remedies i n as far as construction industry is concerned. It also includes analysis about suitability of various modes of communication which are pervasively used today. Communication system in construction industry, with specific reference to construction organization, has been presented a nd communication tables have been developed to bridge the gaps. In order toillustrate the usefulness of t his study for practical applications the communication s y stem of a medium-sized project now under construction in R.O.C. has been discussed. Communication problems encountered in t he project have been generalized and possible corrective measures have been recommended. '!'he study has been concluded with recommendations for further studies in the field of communication system.
