The warm water issuing from the 2,400 MW Bang Pakong Power Plant was investigated in the vicinity of the plant site under unsteady flow condition in a hydraulic model . Heat distribution in the far field and warm water recirculation to the pump intake were obtained. Reproduction of unsteady flow was made by a built-in tide generator, and the warm water generator distributed the pre-determined temperature to the outfall structure. Temperature distribution and warm water circulation due to the depression of outfall structure were also conducted. It was found that there was an effective temperature reduction due to lowering the elevation of outfall structure.
