Almost daily devastation of floods can be observed in urban areas. Impacts from floods in urban areas can be reflected in the loss of human life, infrastructure and property damages as well as economic losses and other kinds of nuisance to urban population. Hence, ability to identify and quantify direct and indirect (i.e. cascading) effects from flood event is of the at most importance for urban flood managers and infrastructure operators. The present research work provides contribution in this direction as it aims to develop the methodological framework for identifying and quantifying indirect or cascading effects on critical urban infrastructure. The developed framework is demonstrated on the case study area of Sukhumvit, Bangkok (Thailand). Out of four smartly selected services infrastructure, roads appeared to be the most impacted and the major effect is traffic delays which consequently imparts to other infrastructure services. Roads and electricity are the greatest donor services in the interdependency system. In the last month of this thesis a limited access to HAZUR web based tool for urban resilience assessment and management was provided which happened to well align with this framework approach, so approach of this work was tested to the tool as well.
