ET-83-3 aA special study submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirement for the degree of Master of Engineering, School of Environment, Resources and Development aSpecial Studies Project Report (M. Eng.) - Asian Institute of Technology, 1983 aSeries of experimental tests were carried out at Suankularb school and Bangkaepankham school's latrines to investigate the feasibility of producing biogas from latrines. Attempts were made to increase the biogas production through improving design of gas holder, installation of H2S scrubber and determining optimum operational parameters. The H2S scrubber designed in this study was found to be simple and efficient to remove H2S and thus increased methane content of biogas. The results of this study demonstrated the feasibility of producing biogas from latrines and the results of this study could be used to design biogas units. 0aPrivies 0aBiogas1 aBhattacharya, Sribas C., eChairperson0 aChongrak Polprasert, eExamination Committee1 aSauter-Servaes, Florian, eExamination Committee2 aAsian Institute of Technology.tSpecial studies project report ;vno.
