There are many factors influencing the decision making process in any investment project. However, the capital budgeting is considered the most challenging because its outcome will define whether the project be profitable in future. The problem has become especially important in Vietnam where market economy has just emerged, thereby, the market-oriented decision making in general, and, its capital budgeting practice in particular, are just being introduced. With above perception in mind, this research study is about the capital budgeting practice in the Vietnam tourism industry through a case of the Saigon Hotel, one of the leading business entities of the industry, that has successfully survived and developed owing to the vision of the management and quick adaptation to the changes of the business environment.
