Pakistan is developing country facing shortfall of electricity while only 68.6% population has access to electricity (World Bank, 2014). Many types of hidden and somehow visible subsidies are there in the country which if removed can bring up many opportunities and benefits especially for people who are living below poverty line. This research study is conducted to know the perception of stakeholders (experts mainly) that if subsidy reform program is implemented for power sector. Main idea of removing subsidy comes up as most of the electricity is generated by fossil fuels which are very harmful for environment. Removal of subsidy will open new windows for better technology and exploitation of resources. SWOT analysis is used for stakeholder's perception followed by Analytic Network Process for prioritization of SWOT factors which helps to identify most important factors and somehow guides toward better strategy formulation in the country. 0aPower resourceszPakistan 0aEnergy consumptionzPakistanxAnalysis 1 aDhakal, Shobhakar,eChairperson1 aIslam, Nazrul,eExamination Committee1 aKumar, Sivanappan,eExamination Committee2 aHigher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan,eScholarship Donor2 aAsian Institute of Technology Fellowship,eScholarship Donor2 aAsian Institute of Technology.tThesis ;vno.
