Thesis (M. Eng.) - Asian Institute of Technology, 2016

The purposes of this study were the effect of diameter of mooring line, the number of mooring line and length in the top section of wire rope in chainwire rope catenary system. Wind and wave models in this study are used API wind spectrum and Pierson-Moskowitz wave spectrum. To compare all of this, optimized model each number of line for the Gulf of Martaban, Myanmar was generated and analyzed in three limit state condition and by fatigue. This master thesis used quasistatic and dynamic method. In dynamic method, frequency and time domain were applied getting results in term of tension and displacement.Optimized models were limited by standard which is API-RP-2SK and DNV-OS-E301.For fatigue analysis, time domain were applied by combine spectrum approach method to get mean tension, standard division and mean zero crossing period each sea state each joint(anchor, connector, fairlead)because there is two effect form simulation that they are a wave and low wave frequency. The final result in fatigue analysis process was fatigue life.
