The theoretical solutions were obtained from the solutions of the two-dimensional counterpart under the assumption that the final line integration in the two-dimensional case was replaced by the corresponding surface integration. The equations expressing the jet deflection angle, the ratio between the velocity of the uniform flow in the pipe to the velocity of jet, and the coefficient of hydrodynamic drag were obtained as functions of the boundary geometry. The experiments were conducted to verify the theoretical equations. The experimental results for the jet deflection angle and the velocity ratio were found to be less than the theoretical values. However, the trends of the theoretical and experimental curves were very similar. The discrepancies between the theoretical and experimental results of the deflection angle and the velocity ratio were found to be approximately constant for all the values of the dimensionless parameters representing the boundary geometry. Empirical equations were also developed to relate the theoretical and experimental values of the jet deflection angle and the velocity ratio UR - http://203.159.5.9/ait-thesis/detail.php?q=B24665 ER -
